Boilermaker: A skilled Tradesperson engaged in the Fabrication of Steel, utilizing steel plate, (mild steel, hardened steels and stainless steels) as well as rolled steel sections. Welding techniques such as Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMA), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW, or Tig), Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG), Gas Welding and Brazing, are an integral part of the Boilermaker’s skills base composition. The Artisan should also be proficient in the use of the Oxy/Acetylene flame cutting process.
A Boilermaker should be able to interpret Engineering Blueprint Drawings and produce work accurately, and efficiently, as specified from the details outlined on these blueprints.
A responsible professional, His/her duties should also cover the observance and application, of all aspects of Safety, Health and the Environment, related to his tasks
